Wake Forest casually drops full court buzzer-beater in ACC tournament

The play of the ACC Tournament might have just gone down on day two.

Trailing by four points with 1.6 seconds to go in the first half of their ACC Tournament second-round game, Virginia Tech was attempting to make a full-court miracle happen to make it a single possession game heading into the locker room.

Things didn’t exactly go according to plan, as Zach LeDay’s full-court pass was picked off by Wake Forest’s Greg McClinton.

McClinton then did this:

To add insult to injury, the shot occurred at the end of a half in which a Virginia Tech team known for its outside shooting was just 3-of-11 from beyond the arc. Wake Forest, meanwhile, connected on six of its nine three-point attempts. None were more difficult or more entertaining than McClinton’s. It was also the only shot attempted by the junior forward during the first half.
