Lance Stephenson said his return to the Indiana Pacers is “going to be like Michael Jordan coming back to play in the NBA.” Stephenson signed a three-year, $12 million deal with Indiana on Wednesday after the Minnesota Timberwolves declined to sign him at the end of his second 10-day contract.

Stephenson signed a three-year deal with the Pacers on Wednesday.
Stephenson enjoyed the heyday of his playing career for the Pacers in 2014, averaging 14 points, seven rebounds, and 4.6 assists as a dynamic combo guard for an Indiana team that posted the Eastern Conference’s best record that season.
But he tested free agency instead of re-signing with the Pacers that summer. Stephenson eventually signed with the Charlotte Hornets, who then traded him to the Los Angeles Clippers. The Clippers then dealt Stephenson to the Memphis Grizzlies.
Stephenson signed with the New Orleans Pelicans at the beginning of this season but was waived after a groin injury sidelined him indefinitely.
