The Giants scored 3 runs on a ball hit 30 feet from home plate

It’s hard to do, but apparently not impossible.

With the bases loaded and Giants pitcher Matt Moore coming up with one out, DH-lovers all over the country were sharpening their pointy sticks. Moore bunted at the first pitch, mostly because he didn’t know what else to do.

And then? MAGIC.

That would be a) Taijuan Walker muffing the throw home, and b) muffing a tough catch when covering home plate, which isn’t too impressive when you itemize it like that.

At the same time, a team shouldn’t score three runs on a ball hit so poorly that it travels just 30 feet. It’s not as silly of a play as the silliest play in recent baseball history, but it’s certainly silly enough to celebrate.
