The NBA Playoffs are here, and we are super excited. To help us look at the first round, we brought back Mo Dakhil, a former NBA video coordinator for eight years that’s worked with the Clippers and Spurs, for a two-part preview extravaganza.

Mo now has his own website called The Jump Ball, which gives readers an in-depth look at the X’s and O’s behind the game. He’s actually prepared tape for NBA coaches before, so he provides an inside perspective on the key questions these teams are asking as they embark on their playoff runs.

As such, Mo provided eight key questions — one for each series — to serve as jumping-off points for our discussion. Those questions are:

  • How do the Celtics score if Isaiah Thomas is struggling?
  • Can the Cavaliers really flip the switch defensively?
  • Who guards Giannis Antetokounmpo for the Raptors?
  • Will the Wizards’ lack of depth catch up to them?
  • If Jusuf Nurkic is healthy, can he even stay on the floor against the Warriors?
  • Are the Spurs the best matchup the Grizzlies could have hoped for considering that San Antonio also plays two big men?
  • Which style will win out: The Rockets’ three-point barraging, or Oklahoma City’s physical approach around the basket?
  • Can the Jazz score enough to keep up with the Clippers?
