Mississippi State vs. South Carolina 2017: Start time, TV schedule for NCAA women’s championship game

The NCAA women’s championship game is set after a wild Final Four night on Friday. On one side, we have the South Carolina Gamecocks, who advanced to the championship after a 62-53 win over Stanford. On the other side, we have the Mississippi State Bulldogs, who are riding high after defeating UConn in one of the greatest upsets in women’s basketball history.

In last year’s tournament, recall, Mississippi State was trounced by the Huskies to the tune of a 98-38 loss. That was certainly in the minds of Vic Schaefer’s club heading into Friday night’s semifinal again Geno Auriemma and Co., and they vindicated themselves in wild, dramatic fashion. UConn’s elimination means this year’s tournament will have a new champion between two SEC teams. SEC basketball fever is real, and it’s invading Dallas on Monday night.

Dawn Staley’s Gamecocks are also looking for vindication on Sunday night, after falling out of last year’s tournament in the Elite Eight round to Syracuse. Cocky was a No. 1 seed last year, they’re a No. 1 seed this year, and they’ll meet another No. 1 seed in the national championship game.

The national championship game is scheduled to start on Sunday at 6 p.m. ET. ESPN will air the game — for those of you who want to watch online, you can do so over at WatchESPN.
