WrestleMania 33 results: Mojo Rawley wins battle royale with Gronk’s help

Mojo took home the big trophy thanks to help from his Patriots buddy.

With the help of New England Patriots star Rob Gronkowski, Mojo Rawley won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royale at WrestleMania 33.

The ring quickly filled up with everybody, with only Big Show and Braun Strowman getting full entrances. There wasn’t much to the early portion of the match, with undercard geeks flying out of the ring left and right. Braun and Big Show had an early staredown before Sami Zayn jumped Strowman.

Show was shockingly eliminated early, and Strowman shortly followed suit. With the two biggest favorites out, that left the remaining field wide open. The ring slowly started clearing out, with most of the SmackDown tag teams getting eliminated. One name of note was NXT developmental rookie Tian Bing, WWE’s first Chinese signing. He lasted a good while before getting thrown out.

Mojo Rawley eliminated Dolph Ziggler and Luke Harper got kicked out by Titus O’Neil, before Sami Zayn tossed him. The final three were Rawley, Jinder Mahal, and Killian Dain, the big muscle of NXT’s SAnitY faction.

Rawley and Mahal both went through the middle rope and Mahal dumped some water on Rob Gronkowski, Rawley’s good buddy who just happened to be sitting at ringside. Of course, Gronk had to get involved, stepping into the ring and shoulder-tackling Mahal. Rawley then threw out Dain and Mahal, winning the big Andre the Giant trophy. Afterwards, Rawley and Gronk celebrated in the ring.
