Dion Waiters aggressively wrestled a fake alligator on Instagram

Oh, the things players do to get in shape.

When you don’t make the playoffs, the offseason comes quick. Some players like to go fishing. Others take exotic vacations. Then you’ve got Dion Waiters, who wrestles alligators.

Real alligators.

In a video Waiters posted on Instagram that Basketball Insiders’ Tommy Beer found and posted on Twitter, Waiters is seen wrestling a very not fake alligator found its natural habitat: His swimming pool. The Heat guard captioned, “They ask me what my weight loss routine [is], I told ‘em wrestling alligators.”

Waiters posted his before and after pictures on Snapchat, showing the weight he visibly cut during the 2016-17 season with the Miami Heat. He also captioned on that image, “Truth the process,” marking the end to his yearlong war on quoting correctly.

When you’ve had the season Waiters has had, though, you get some rope.

In his lone year in Miami, the Heat guard posted near career-highs across the board. He averaged 15.8 points on 39.4 percent three-point shooting, 4.3 assists, and 3.3 rebounds for a Heat team that tied the Chicago Bulls for the East’s No. 8 seed.

When you have a year like that, why not wrestle some alligators?
