Every so often on Fridays, we’re presenting a fun sports hypothetical that requires serious introspection. We expect you to weigh in in the comments below.
If you suddenly found yourself in the Olympics, which event would be most terrifying?
There are so many right answers.

Here’s the situation: You’re doing a normal, everyday activity, whether it’s sitting at your desk at work, doing laundry, chopping onions for dinner, taking a nap — whatever — and suddenly you blink your eyes and there you are: about to start competing in an Olympic event.
Which Olympic event — summer or winter — would be the most terrifying? This fear can be some combination of potential for embarrassment, confusion about event protocol, injury, letting teammates down, performing poorly on behalf of your country, and other factors.
The only real caveat here is that you MUST give the event everything you’ve got in pursuit of success. You can’t go in and take one punch in the boxing ring and go down — unless, of course, that’s all it takes to knock you out (very possible). You have to attempt to row, tumble, shoot, run, jump, skate, kick, swim, or some combination thereof with every fiber of your being until you physically cannot.
I think the answer that checks off the most boxes as being terrifying is the nordic combined, which features various ski jumping and cross country skiing events. Injury, embarrassment, letting others down, exhausting yourself while performing poorly — it’s all there!
So, which sport/event would be most terrifying to you?
