The Warriors have decided to hold Kevin Durant out of Game 3 of their first-round series against the Portland Trail Blazers, according to ESPN’s Marc Stein. Golden State will also be without Shaun Livingston (right index finger sprain and hand contusion) and Matt Barnes (right ankle/foot sprain), according to ESPN’s Marc Spears, as well as head coach Steve Kerr, who will miss Game 3 due to illness.
Kevin Durant will be held out of Game 3 with calf strain
The Warriors will also be without Shaun Livingston, Matt Barnes and head coach Steve Kerr.

Mike Brown will act as head coach instead, the team announced.
Durant suffered a left calf strain in the Warriors’ Game 1 win over the Trail Blazers while he scored 32 points on 12-of-20 shooting in 36 minutes. He missed Game 2 with the injury, and Golden State went on to beat Portland by 29.
Durant’s injury is on the same leg he suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain and tibial bone bruise that sidelined him for more than a month during the regular season. It is unclear if the two injuries are related, but the Warriors lost five of their first seven games without Durant after his initial injury before rattling off 14 straight wins to finish the year on a 15-1 run.
In the four games he played after returning from MCL sprain, Durant averaged 23.3 points, 9.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game, shooting 55.6 percent from the field.
