Sunday gave us spectacular performances from some of the NBA’s biggest stars. It has been a year for huge individual performance and Sunday proved to be no different. Russell Westbrook and LeBron James became the first players to record 40-point triple-doubles on the same day since 1975, when Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Pete Maravich did it. Westbrook finished with 40 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists, while James finished with 41 points, 16 rebounds, and 11 assists.

They weren’t the only two with big numbers. Paul George and Jimmy Butler also had impressive lines. While George and the Pacers took a loss to the Cavaliers, he finished with 43 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists. Meanwhile, Butler has the Bulls surging, and in a win over the Pelicans he finished with 39 points, six rebounds, and five assists.

Meanwhile, out west, Stephen Curry dropped 42 points, including his 300th three-pointer of the season.

Winners: Boston Celtics

With a win on Sunday, Boston reached 50 wins on the season. It marked the 32nd time in history the franchise has had a 50+ win season, which tied Lakers for the all-time record.

Losers: The Lakers and Grizzlies

The Lakers are in full tank mode and need to lose as many games as possible to have a chance to keep their 2017 lottery pick. Meanwhile, the Grizzlies are 7th in the Western Conference, and while its unlikely they will fall out of the playoff race, this was a bad loss for them.
