It is with a heavy heart that I must announce that Bryce Harper is at it again. The 24-year-old wunderkind has hit his fifth Opening Day home run.
Bryce Harper hit the 5th Opening Day home run of his career
He’s 24 years old. HE’S 24 YEARS OLD.

This is his fifth Opening Day.
The home run looked like this:
That is a very good Konami reference! I’m still upset that doing it in Gradius III blew up the ship, but even more upset that according to Wikipedia, “replacing ← and → with the L and R triggers of the SNES controller powers up the ship.”
Anyway, the point is that Bryce Harper is good. Good beyond his Earth age. There was a weird time when people actually wanted him to play more minor-league baseball and I’m glad we’re through it. The only questions I have about Harper now are “$400 million or $500 million?” and “Dodgers or Yankees?” I certainly don’t have one about him hitting Opening Day home runs.
(The record for Opening Day home runs is eight, by the way, shared by Adam Dunn and Hall of Famers Ken Griffey, Jr. and Frank Robinson.)
