Referee blows obvious jump ball call against Cavaliers despite staring right at it

Not one but two Hawks players were out of bounds!

The Cavaliers had a complete meltdown on Sunday against the Hawks. Cleveland led by 26 points heading into the final quarter and then allowed the Hawks to score 44 points in the fourth quarter. The Hawks then tied the game thanks to a Paul Millsap buzzer beater off a jump ball. Does that sound absolutely crazy? Well, it was.

But it gets tricky because that jump ball should have never existed. Both Millsap and Kent Bazemore are out of bounds while grabbing the ball from Kyrie Irving. What makes it worse is the referee is starting directly at the play and still doesn’t make the call.

It results in a jump ball, which the Hawks miraculously get, and Millsap hits the shot.

What a wild finish. I’m sure we’ll see this in the NBA’s Last Two Minutes report Monday.
