Manu Ginobili might retire this summer — the 39-year-old says he hasn’t made up his mind yet. But after the Spurs lost Game 4 to the Warriors on Monday in Ginobili’s postgame press conference, he answered a question in Spanish and one English-speaking reported wanted to make sure he wasn’t pulling a fast one on us.
Manu Ginobili assures reporter he didn’t announce retirement after answering a question in Spanish
Ginobili might retire, but not yet!

Awwwww Manu’s reaction is precious. Look at him. I’m almost certain the reporter was just making a joke, too. It’s not uncommon to see non-English reporters ask questions in their native language to international players in press conferences. We’ve even seen Kobe Bryant talk with reporters in Italian, for example.
Ginobili said he’ll wait a few weeks before retiring or deciding to return for next season, saying he still believes he can play basketball. Ginobili is the second-oldest player in the league, but he still averaged about eight points and three assists this season off the Spurs bench.
It was also an up-and-down postseason for Ginobili, who didn’t score in the first four games he played but finished with three vintage performances in his last four games. In what could be his final game, Ginobili scored 15 points while dishing seven assists as the Spurs played feisty but ultimately fell in a 129-115 defeat.
