Maryland, Denver, Towson, and Ohio State are the four teams left in the NCAA lacrosse tournament.

Towson knocked off No. 2 seed Syracuse, 10-7, to advance to its first men’s lacrosse national semifinal since 2001. Towson went on an offensive barrage early, leading by six at halftime. Syracuse fought back, but Towson was able to stave off the comeback. Tigers attackman Joe Seider racked up four goals, and midfielders Mike Lynch and Matt Wylly registered two goals apiece.
The Tigers will now face an Ohio State team that advanced to its first NCAA semifinals in program history after defeating Duke, 16-11, in the quarterfinals. Attackman Eric Fannell tallied five goals and two assists. The Buckeyes didn’t struggle to score either, converting on 16 of their 31 shot attempts.
Both Ohio State and Towson can light up the scoreboards, but the winner of this matchup will be the team that plays stifling defense.
The second semifinal will be between Denver and Maryland. Denver is coming off a dominant performance in which it defeated Notre Dame, 16-4. The Pioneers got off to a fast start, jumping out to an 8-1 in the first half. Norte Dame struggled out of the gate and couldn’t muster up plays to make the game competitive. The Pioneers’ Austin French tallied four goals, and Trevor Baptiste won 21 out of 22 faceoffs.
Lastly, Maryland defeated Albany, 18-9, to advance to its fourth straight semifinals. The Terrapins scored eight unanswered goals in the first half. Attackman Matt Rambo finished with a game-high eight points and four assists. Midfielder Connor Kelly chipped in with five goals as well.
Both games should keep fans on the edge of their seats, as all four teams are capable of scoring at any moment.
