Wasps knocked off the Leicester Tigers, 21-20, to make it to the Premiership. Wasps were clicking on all cylinders early on, bursting out to a 10-point lead. However, a try by Leicester’s Peter Betham sliced Wasps lead to three points at halftime. Within the last two minutes of the game, Josh Bassett scored a try that helped the Wasps advance to their first Premiership final in nine years.
The Exeter Chiefs are coming off an 18-16 win over Saracens in the semifinals. Extra scored a late try to advance to its second consecutive Premiership. Henry Slade, who was a replacement, drilled a perfect penalty that landed deep inside the Saracens 22. The Chiefs captured the line-out, which led to them driving Sam Simmonds over for the deciding score.
Both teams have the talent that could lead them to the championship. Look for the Chiefs and Wasps to play with physicality and speed. After all, this game is for all the marbles.
