Voting results are out for the 2017 Helmet Throwing All-Star Game. Out of 750 different payers, Bryce Harper is dead last. There’s still time, but it’ll be an uphill battle.
Bryce Harper leading National League by plenty in 2017 All-Star Game voting
Harper is nearly doubling the votes of the next-closest outfielder, and I’m sure that’s all everyone will be able to talk about today.

When it comes to the 2017 Major League Baseball All-Star Game, however, Harper is leading by a bunch, nearly doubling the votes of Charlie Blackmon, the next-closest outfielder.
The current results:
The biggest takeaway from these results is that Cubs fans are going understandably bonkers in the voting. Jason Heyward has been almost decent at the plate, which is a huge step up, but he’s nowhere close to an All-Star starter. Kyle Schwarber is hitting so poorly that Cubs fans are wondering if he should be sent to the minors, but he’s close enough to third place to have a shot.
As for the rest of the starters, they look reasonable. Buster Posey at catcher is the right call, and an infield of Anthony Rizzo, Daniel Murphy, Corey Seager, and Kris Bryant is almost empirically correct. If just one more outfielder can scoot up the leaderboard, this could be one of the better starting All-Star Game lineups in recent memory.
Harper has the huge, deserved lead, and Cubs fans are showing enthusiasm at the ballot box. This has been your first 2017 MLB All-Star Game voting update.
