National Spelling Bee 2017 live stream: Time, TV schedule, and how to watch online
The 90th annual Scripps National Spelling Bee is here.

This year, 291 contestants will compete in the annual spelling bee. The preliminaries were held Wednesday.
The finals will air in two parts: The first part will air on ESPN2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the second part will air on ESPN from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
According to Bill Chappell of NPR, this year’s contest will include Edith Fuller, 5, who defeated many older competitors in a regional spelling bee in Tulsa, Okla. She is the youngest contestant to ever qualify for the National Spelling Bee.
If a child wants to participate in the Scripps National Spelling Bee, he or she must attend a school that is enrolled with the Scripps National Spelling Bee — or be homeschooled, as in Fuller’s case. The speller could not have won a Scripps National Spelling Bee near Washington D.C, too. For more information on eligibility, visit the website.
The winner of the spelling bee will earn $40,000, and the runner-up will receive $30,000. The participant who finishes in third gets $20,000, and fourth place gets $10,000.
Along with $40,000, the champion receives many awards like a Scripps National Spelling Bee engraved trophy, a $2,500 U.S. savings bond, a complete reference library from Merriam-Webster, and a trip to New York City to appear on LIVE with Kelly and Ryan.
