No. 4 LSU and Florida State drew the nightcap in the College World Series’ opening slate, and the Tigers and ‘Noles are locked into a grinding, error-filled battle. Both teams are stacked on their pitching staffs and up and down their lineups, and this matchup has lived up to its dramatic expectations.
LSU infield completes blitzkrieg diamond-crossing double play

In the top of the seventh inning and with FSU holding a slight 4-3 lead over their opponents, Dylan Busby — who’s responsible for all of the Seminoles’ runs production thus far — grounded down the third base line where Josh Smith fielded it clean and whipped it across the diamond to get the force at first.
From there, LSU first baseman Nick Coomes returned fire back across the diamond to Smith, who successfully made the tag on a hard-charging JC Flowers. That ended the top of the frame: a 5-3-5 double play.
LSU tied things up at four all on a wild play that ranged all over the park.
