The top-seeded Gators will have their hands full with the Tigers, who are coming off a 2-1 victory over UCLA. The Tigers and UCLA were tied 1-1 up until the fifth inning. Then, LSU’s Amber Serrett hit a single to right field, which led to a Constance Quinn score to give the Tigers a 2-1 lead.
The home plate umpire, Leah Bowen, called obstruction on UCLA catcher Paige Halstead for blocking home plate while Quinn was sliding to score. Halstead was fielding a throw from the outfield. Bowen awarded Quinn with the run, which led to LSU’s victory.
