After a year of speculation, we’ll finally learn the roster of the NHL’s latest expansion team on Wednesday night.
NHL expansion draft 2017: Time, TV channel for pick selection results

The expansion draft picks of the Vegas Golden Knights will be revealed (slowly) throughout the NHL Awards ceremony on Wednesday, starting at 8 p.m. ET at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The awards (and thus, the picks) will be aired live on NBCSN (in the U.S.) and Sportsnet (in Canada).
Vegas had to submit its selections to the NHL by 10 a.m. ET on Wednesday. The list of available players was revealed on Sunday, so they’ve had a few days to deliberate and make side deals with teams ahead of the draft.
Some big names like James Neal, Eric Staal, Marc Methot, and Marc-Andre Fleury are available, so it’ll be interesting to see what the Golden Knights’ roster looks like in the end. They’ve already got KHL center Vadim Shipachyov. Trades could swap some of these better players for picks, though.
