Barack Obama could be part of an NBA team’s ownership group, which is awesome and unfair

Imagine Obama recruiting free agents?

Former United States president-turned coolest normal human being in the world, Barack Obama made a name for himself with his level of involvement in hoops, both NBA and college. Now, according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, there is growing buzz around the idea of the ex-president becoming a minority owner as part of a group.

“There are multiple people that are competing that want Barack Obama to be a part of the ownership group, either existing or they wanna buy a team and they want him to be (a part of the group),” Windhorst said on ESPN’s Jalen & Jacoby Show. “If he wanted to be, he’d be one now. I think he probably wants to wait. I don’t think he wants to do anything publicly for awhile.

“But if he wants to be part of an ownership group, he could be by this afternoon. But it’s a matter of being in the right situation. He wants to make it just right.”

Just a reminder, this is the same guy who did this:

How dope would that be? The ex-president of the United States, the last leader of the free world, now taking the reins as president of an NBA franchise?

How unfair is that? Imagine Gordon Hayward meeting with the Celtics, ready to sign the contract he’s yearned for when Obama helicopters down onto the lawn, pulls up, and tells him he needs 90 seconds.

You think Hayward’s gonna tell BARACK OBAMA no?

It would be awesome, and the NBA would be amazing if it happened.
