Vince Young asks ‘what the f--- is going on’ because Ryan Fitzpatrick has a job and he doesn’t

Vince Young — who was called “Graybeard” by his CFL teammates — says that he belongs in the NFL. He also feels that certain quarterbacks shouldn’t, and even got specific with who.

“I’d see a quarterback and be like, ‘Dude is garbage, and I’m over here in the kitchen cooking turkey necks!?’” Young told Sports Illustrated.

He didn’t stop there.

“I hate to name-drop, but [Ryan] Fitzpatrick is still playing!? He leads the league in interceptions, and he’s still f------ getting paid? I mean, what the f--- is going on?”

That’s the best completion (of a burn) Vince Young has thrown in quite some time.

Young hasn’t been in the NFL since May 2014, when he signed a one-year contract with the Cleveland Browns before being cut two weeks later. Since then, he’s made a comeback with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League. However, a torn hamstring in training camp forced the team to waive him earlier in June.

Young doesn’t have anything to gain or lose by calling out Fitzpatrick, but it’s funny he did it. Players typically don’t do that out of respect, but at 34 years old, it’s clear Young doesn’t care knowing that any shot he has at the NFL is likely done with.

He also called out his former coach in Tennessee, Jeff Fisher. “I’m going to expose his ass,” Young said.

Young said he that he was left behind on a road trip to Philadelphia after he left his ID at home.

“I feel like Fisher did that s--- on purpose,” Young said. “I’m pulling in, seeing them pull the door down. I can hear the team yelling.” He also mentioned that Fisher had held the plane for other players before.

They say honesty is the best policy. That might not be the case here, but it sure is entertaining.

Over anything else Young will do or say for the rest of his life, we’ll remember his 2006 Rose Bowl performance the most — as one of the best of all-time.
