The 2017 Women’s College World Series has been narrowed down to just two teams. Florida and Oklahoma will face off in the best-of-three championship series to decide this year’s champion.
Women’s College World Series 2017 scores: Florida, Oklahoma to meet in championship series
Washington and Oregon were eliminated from the Women’s College World Series after Florida and Oklahoma took wins on Sunday.

On Sunday, Florida, the top seed, finished off the first bracket by beating Washington in the semifinals. Oklahoma, the 10th seed, dominated the second bracket and bested Oregon in their semifinal match.
Florida is making its third finals appearance in four years, while Oklahoma is the defending champion for the bracket.
They are undoubtedly the two most talented teams in the country, and both are no strangers to success when it comes to softball. The Gators won back-to-back titles in 2014 and 2015, and the Sooners are trying to do the same thing now. Florida is 13-1 in the WCWS since 2014, the best of any team in the country.
The Gators had seven hits in the big game against Washington on Sunday. The Huskies managed just two hits, with Florida ultimately taking a 5-2 victory.
Oklahoma trailed Oregon after it allowed two runs in the fifth, but the Sooners rallied back to score four runs in the bottom of the inning to secure the 4-2 victory.
The finals championship series will run from Monday to Wednesday, provided they need a third game. If either team wins the first two, then they’ll be crowned the champion for the year.
