Over the last few days, it’s become clear the NBA doesn’t mind that the Warriors and Cavaliers are playing in the Finals for the third straight time. And if there was any doubt left, the league ended it with the sale of “The Trilogy” merchandise in the league’s team store.
‘Trilogy’ merchandise shows the NBA is happy to make money off Cavs-Warriors dominance
A lack of parity won’t stop the NBA from making money off Cavs-Warriors Part 3.

This morning, the league’s store Twitter account fired this off:
The merchandise was available for purchase before the NBA Finals began and is being promoted again before Game 2 of the Finals starts in Cleveland.
This shows us how the league is thinking. Whether they like it or not, they realize there is an opportunity to cash out on a very historic moment in league history. This is the first time two teams have ever clashed in the NBA Finals three years in a row. This is a way to get the casual fan who doesn’t want Warriors or Cavs gear involved in the process.
By the way, for all the talk about the lack of parity in the league and how Golden State has ruined things with its superteam, things look perfectly fine.
More people are watching the games, despite the Warriors’ dominance. And the league is still pushing merchandise like this. Maybe things are just fine the way they are.
