Can we appreciate the Warriors’ greatness if they’re not challenged?

That and more in this week’s Limited Upside podcast.

The 2017 NBA Finals feature a great team playing at a level we’ve rarely seen in league history. It features seven of the 30 best players in the league and the coronation of the only one that doesn’t have a title so far. It features a lot of people tuning in.

And yet, it lacks the one thing that many of us want most: drama. The Warriors have steamrolled the Cavaliers through two games, and it’s hard to see Cleveland keeping up in Game 3 and beyond.

So does that mean these Finals have been disappointing and/or boring? We grapple with that question with friend of the show Zito Madu. Among the topics discussed:

  • Does Cleveland have any chance to rally? What has to happen for them to come back?
  • Is it possible to appreciate the Warriors’ greatness without them having a real foil? Or is this simply high art without any emotional pull?
  • Have we learned anything new about Kevin Durant’s game from his time in Golden State?
  • Which player could you add to the Cavaliers to give them a chance?

Plus, these jerks make fun of my (Mike’s) elbow injury, and we detour to brief thoughts on the Champions League final. (Specifically: this).
