Cowboys WR Lucky Whitehead gets his missing dog back

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Lucky Whitehead says his dog, Blitz, was stolen from home and held for ransom, according to an Instagram post on Monday.

But the story has a happy ending. On Tuesday morning, Whitehead posted on Snapchat to show that he and Blitz have been reunited.

Whitehead says he was out of town when the dog was taken, and that somebody was contacting him demanding money for the pet’s return.

I’ve taken some time to collect my thoughts on this subject matter, and it’s very heartbreaking to say that Blitz has been stolen from my home last Sunday. While out of town, Blitz was being taken care of by a close friend at my house and someone broke in and took him.

Whomever stole Blitz has contacted my phone numerous times, demanding ransom money. I strongly advise you to stop and return my boy safely before it gets any worse! If you know of any details regarding Blitz’s whereabouts or who may be involved in this, please contact me immediately. 💔

Whitehead has posted about the pit bull a bunch of times over the past few months. He clearly loves his pet, and just wanted him back safely.

We’re still not sure what happened, but the person who returned Blitz — local rapper Boogotti Kasino — claims he never dognapped him.

The 25-year-old Whitehead has been a member of the Cowboys since 2015, when he was signed as an undrafted free agent. He’s been used primarily in special teams as a returner, although he’s also recorded 20 carries for 189 rushing yards and nine catches for 64 receiving yards.

And now he and his pup are back together.
