Four-time NBA champion and Hall of Fame big man Shaquille O’Neal put out a rap song Friday night appropriately titled “LaVar Ball Diss Track,” and the Big Fella dropped some piping-hot bars on the outspoken father of Los Angeles Lakers rookie point guard Lonzo Ball.

The Big Fella had some heat for LaVar Ball this weekend.
O’Neal, rapping over the instrumental to Meek Mill’s single “Young Black America,” took jab after jab at LaVar, who recently claimed he and his youngest son LaMelo Ball “would kill” Shaq and his son, Shareef O’Neal, in a two-on-two basketball game.
“[Shareef said] he can take LaMelo? Stop it. Aye, me and Melo against him and Shaq, we’ll kill ‘em. We’ll kill ‘em.”
This was Ball’s first comments in O’Neal’s direction since Shaq called out LaVar for his overpriced Big Baller Brand sneaker.

Two things to unpack here: First, Shaq goes at LaVar, claiming to be the original Big Baller Brand. O’Neal had a signature shoe line with shirts and slippers through Reebok during his playing career.
Next O’Neal goes after Ball again, who averaged 2.2 points per game through 26 games at Washington State in the 1987-88 season. He averaged fewer than two shots per game, which would suggest he did not see much playing time on the floor (college minutes per game were not tracked 30 years ago).

Shaq drops his signature “barbecue chicken” line here, calling Ball a mismatch, a baby or a straight up liability defending the 7’1” O’Neal on the low block.

Finally, Shaq dishes a compliment out Ball’s way. Regardless of his brash personality, he’s successfully raised three sons: one playing in the NBA, one currently enjoying a full scholarship to UCLA and another touted as one of the best high school prospects available, who also has accepted a full ride to UCLA.
