Kevin Durant welcomed Nick Young to the Warriors by trolling him on Twitter

Because it’s only right.

Fresh off their second championship in three years by way of the most dominant playoff performance in NBA history, the Golden State Warriors shored up their reserve unit by signing polarizing swingman Nick Young.

The Warriors signed Young to a one-year deal at the taxpayer’s mid-level exception of $5.2 million — a move that was only possible thanks to Kevin Durant’s selflessness in negotiating his contract.

Durant welcomed Swaggy P to Oakland by posting a picture of Young’s infamous premature celebration on Twitter.

Here’s where the screencap came from:

Durant took $6.8 million less than his $31.8 million max when he re-signed with the Warriors on a two-year, $53 million deal. His $25 million salary in Year 1 — almost $2 million less than what he made last season — allowed the Warriors to re-sign Shaun Livingston and Andre Iguodala without burying ownership in luxury taxes.

Golden State then qualified for the taxpayer’s mid-level exception of $5.192 million, which it used to sign Young.

Swaggy P now has the hottest odds at winning a championship than he had at any stop in his NBA career. Hopefully Warriors fans can forgive him for what he said about them a year ago.
