“Gone fishing” is normally associated with a player or team who’s eliminated from playoff contention. But Brooklyn Nets forward Quincy Acy gave the term a whole new meaning when he snagged the first sailfish of his reeling career.
Look at this f***ing sailfish that Quincy Acy caught
The sailfish came in at 78 inches long, weighing 60 pounds. That’s a 6’6 fish.

And not only did he reel in one of the biggest fishes I’ve ever seen, the man did it while simultaneously on his phone (possibly checking to see if he or any of his NBA friends had been traded in this volatile offseason, but more likely just trying to capture the moment on video).
The fish was 60 pounds and 78 inches long, according to Acy’s Instagram account. That’s only one inch shorter than the 6’7” Acy, and he’s probably shorter than his listed height.
“I fought this Sailfish for 45 mins, and I got blisters to show for it lol...I’m so live y’all lol”
It’s safe to say Acy, a 6’7,” 240-pound, three-point shooting block of cock-diesel muscle, is on the stronger end of the spectrum of human beings. But that fish is massive.
The fish is even shaped like a sailboat, which is probably where it gets its name from. This isn’t a fishing blog, but snagging a catch like that is sports. So shoutout to Quincy Acy for that reeling in a sailfish that size.
The only question left: You gonna fry that thing, or nah?
