Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco is expected to start Week 1 against the Cincinnati Bengals despite a back injury, according to ESPN’s Jamison Hensley. Flacco will not see the field in the preseason.
Joe Flacco likely to be available for fantasy owners in Week 1 despite back injury
The Ravens’ No. 1 quarterback is likely going to start the season opener. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy impact: Coach John Harbaugh is sounding very optimistic about Flacco’s chances heading into the game against the Bengals. That’s good news for Ravens fans. Backup Ryan Mallett has put together three less-than-stellar efforts in the preseason.
While Flacco has been the main guy in Baltimore for a long time, he rarely gets used in fantasy leagues. While he will have Jeremy Maclin and Mike Wallace as deep threats this year, the quarterback has always been seen as a game manager.
That label doesn’t usually draw the enthusiasm of fantasy owners. For that reason, Flacco will continue to be a matchup-dependent or bye week fill-in in fantasy leagues. On the plus side, he did throw for a career-high 4,317 yards in 2016.
