There’s been no shortage of help in the relief effort for Houston after Hurricane Harvey. Ezekiel Elliott is the latest to step up and donate to the relief efforts, which he announced on his Instagram Monday evening.
Ezekiel Elliott donates $21,000 to Salvation Army for Hurricane Harvey relief
He also challenged Dak Prescott, Dez Bryant, and Terrance Williams to make a donation.
In the post, Elliott says he’s donated $21,000 to the Salvation Army in support of victims of the natural disaster.
Along with his donation, he invites people to join him to donate money “whether it’s $21, or $210, or $21,000” to help relief efforts for the city of Houston. The 21, of course, referencing Elliott’s number.
Elliott also challenged Dak Prescott, Dez Bryant, and Terrance Williams to make a significant contribution to the Salvation Army. His ties to the Salvation Army go back to when he jumped in one of their kettles after scoring a touchdown last December. It led to a spike in donations for the organization.
The Cowboys and Texans are set to face off in Arlington at AT&T Stadium, after the game was moved from Houston because of Hurricane Harvey.
J.J. Watt also started a fundraising campaign to help with recovery efforts, which quickly eclipsed its $500,000 goal. The bar has since been raised to $1 million.
