This Hofstra defender’s own goal is a candidate for funniest of the year

In an early season matchup with Maryland, Hofstra defender Sean Nealis was trying to kick the ball out of danger.

It didn’t go as planned.

I don’t blame the goalie at all for this because the ball traveled like a Backyard Baseball power up.

My favorite part of the gif is when the Maryland player in the bottom right corner starts celebrating before the ball crosses the goal line.

This isn’t the worst thing I’ve seen on a soccer field, but it’s pretty hilarious.
