Canelo Alvarez has been one of the biggest names in boxing for a long, long time, and on Saturday he’ll be fighting one just about as big in Gennady Golovkin on HBO pay-per-view. Golovkin and Alvarez comprise the actual best boxing match of 2017, even if the earlier bout between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor exceeded expectations.

Unlike that fight, this one features two of the very best in the sport. It will begin, live on PPV at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday. The card comes from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Live streaming of the bout can be had online if purchased directly from the site set up for the bout, CaneloGGG.com.

Alvarez is 49-1-1 with 34 knockouts to his name, his lone loss coming to Mayweather in 2013, when he was still relatively inexperienced. He’s earned some nice wins since then, including a huge win over Miguel Cotto in 2015 and a win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in his last outing.

That said, many have criticized him for picking his fights carefully following his loss to Mayweather. Of course, that could have something to do with the fact that prior to that fight, he’d fought in some very risky bouts as his star grew.

Golovkin is undefeated at 37-0, with 33 knockouts to his name. His last fight was a unanimous decision win over Daniel Jacobs, his biggest fight to date. Alvarez is a big step up for him, but one that many think he can make convincingly.

Alvarez is The Ring middleweight champion and the former lineal middleweight champion. Golovkin is the unified WBA Super), WBC, IBF and IBO middleweight champion. There’s plenty at stake going into Saturday’s bout, the least of which isn’t the crown for arguably the best active boxer on the planet.

Below is all you need to know to watch the action on Saturday, and the full fight card from HBO.
