Arizona Cardinals running back Kerwynn Williams rushed the ball five times for 10 yards and a touchdown in the team’s Week 1 win over the Detroit Lions. With teammate David Johnson (wrist) sidelined for at least two months, Williams should see the bulk of the carries moving forward.
Fantasy football sit/start advice, Week 2: Kerwynn Williams
David Johnson’s injury means Williams is the Cards’ short-term lead back. We break down the fantasy implications.

He will also have to share time in the backfield with Andre Ellington and Chris Johnson. Still, Williams is the younger more durable option and expects to get a lot of early down work moving forward.
Fantasy impact: The fact David Johnson needs surgery is a big blow to the Cards’ offense for the next little while. As far as Week 2 goes, the Cardinals draw the notoriously leaky run defense of the Indianapolis Colts. The game is on the road, but it shouldn’t matter much. Williams will still get the lion’s share of the touches on Sunday.
If you’re in a deep league and decided to add him to your roster, this Sunday is a great time to give Williams a whirl.
Recommendation: Start
