To say the New York Mets have had a bad season in 2017 is an understatement. The latest victim to get caught in the undertow of their terrible wake is infielder Wilmer Flores.
Wilmer Flores fouls a ball off his own face
More bad news for the Mets.

In the second game of a doubleheader on Saturday against the Houston Astros, Flores fouled a ball of his own face in the top of the fourth inning. He was removed from the game immediately.
This followed a 12-8 loss in Game 1 of the doubleheader earlier in the day, in which Matt Harvey was shelled for seven runs in just two innings in his first game back from the disabled list.
That was the Mets’ 76th loss of the season, putting them on pace for 92 defeats in a season in which they were supposed to contend for the playoffs. Just about everything that can go wrong has for New York in 2017.
