There are just two teams in the NFL that Aaron Rodgers had never been able to beat coming into Week 3. One is obviously the Packers, the team he’s played for throughout his career. The other team was the Bengals, and that finally changed on Sunday.

The Bengals had a lead through most of the game, but the Packers were driving with less than a minute to play. Cincinnati had a 24-17 advantage, so Green Bay had to put up seven to send it to overtime. It did, on a laser from Rodgers to Jordy Nelson.

Rodgers hit wide receiver Geronimo Allison on a 72-yard pass on Green Bay’s first possession in overtime.

It put the Packers in position to kick a 27-yard field goal to win. Mason Crosby nailed it.

The Packers pulled it off, but most of regulation was tough sledding for Green Bay.

Part of the challenge for Rodgers was that the Bengals were able to sack him six times. Green Bay had Kyle Murphy filling in for starting left tackle David Bakhtiari. Brian Bulaga, the starting right tackle, was active, but left the game with an ankle injury.

Rodgers was also visibly frustrated at times during the game. He was even caught on camera letting the sideline know that whatever he’d just heard was a “stupid f***ing call.”

The odds were against Rodgers and the Packers in overtime. His record in overtime games is 0-7, which is the worst of all time, according to the CBS broadcast.

Rodgers finished with 313 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. Not only did Rodgers get that Bengals monkey off his back, but he also finally got an overtime victory.
