The Washington Wizards were embarrassed the last time they played the Utah Jazz, losing by 47 points. (It was without John Wall, but FORTY-SEVEN is a lot of points.) On Wednesday, they were offered up a rematch against the Wizards, using that previous loss as motivation.
Donovan Mitchell amazingly forces Bradley Beal turnover on Wizards’ final possession
It looked like Beal was going to get off a good, game-tying look ... and instead he turned it over after Mitchell recovered.

... and instead of a confidence-inspiring victory, they did this.
That’s Bradley Beal, on the game’s final play down three points, getting run down by Donovan Mitchell despite the rookie stumbling on his closeout. Instead of shooting, Beal was forced to aimlessly release the ball into space and couldn’t pick it back up — if he had, it would have been called as traveling. It’s never good to be down by a three-pointer with only seconds left, but the Wizards could have at least hoped to get one shot off. They didn’t even do that. Instead, the play was a turnover and Washington lost 107-104.
The Wizards can’t stop losing to bad teams.
Clearly, Washington has talent and two amazing players in the backcourt, but they have shown no real consistency. The Wizards are now just 15-14 with teams with worse records than them, at the time they played said teams. Sure, that will occasionally include teams that are similar, but it also includes recent blowout losses to squads like the Nets and — even worse — the Hawks.
There’s still a good chance that Washington will be fine, and they’ve still won six of their last eight games, but Wizards fans are frustrated, to say the least.
