Dion Waiters will have surgery on his left ankle that will end his season, according to a report from Yahoo!’s Shams Charania:
Dion Waiters to undergo season-ending surgery on ankle, per report
The Heat guard has been battling an ankle injury the last eight games.

This is the same ankle that sidelined Waiters for the last 13 games of last season. Waiters re-injured the ankle this season with a sprain but hasn’t been able to return to the court since.
Waiters was adamant that he wasn’t going to have surgery, according to a report from NBC Sports, saying “No, hell no,” to the possibility of an operation. However, it was reported earlier this week that he would consider it as an option. He also considered surgery last summer.
Waiters was averaging 14.3 points per game and shooting 30 percent from beyond the arch for the Heat. The team is currently on a six game winning streak and is the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference.
