Manu Ginobili wants to know how this pass didn’t count and so do I

WHY IS THIS NOT THREE POINTS?

Look, if the ball goes through the net, it counts. Period. So somebody needs to explain to us why this Manu Ginobili lob doesn’t count as a three.

Ginobili was throwing a lob to LaMarcus Aldridge, but the pass ended up going through the hoop because of course it did.

Okay, sure. The play looks like it could be some sort of mind trick. It almost looks as if the ball hit the bottom of the rim. But it didn’t! It went in! But the officials didn’t count the bucket as a bucket — the play just went on. And Ginobili lost it. Gregg Popovich didn’t even know what to say.

And here’s a look at me, in my living room visibly upset that the basket didn’t count and eyeing the referee through my television as I mutter NSFW things.

How could this not count!? Ginobili reacted the way we all would’ve in that same situation. This is a travesty. An outrage. I demand these points be added to the final score of the game immediately.

Luckily for the Spurs, the points didn’t matter much in their 100-91 victory over the Knicks. But still, it should have counted. This was the most Ginobili play ever and he deserves credit for it.
