Bill Belichick is notoriously grumpy and monotonous when dealing with the media. Smiles and laughs are so rare from the New England Patriots coach that NFL Network even posted a “smile counter” for Belichick at Super Bowl Opening Night.

But it didn’t seem too difficult Monday with Belichick in a pretty good mood. He even laughed at the oldest, corniest football joke ever.
“What did the football coach say to the pay phone?”
Come on, Bill. You know the answer to that. You’ve spent your entire life around football. There’s no way you don’t know the answer is something something quarterback.
But somehow the joke landed and got a laugh out of Belichick. Even the person who told the joke was shocked he got a laugh out of it and yelled “IT WORKED!”
