Stephen Curry buries Mavericks AGAIN with game-winning 3-pointer

Curry keeps beating Dallas from distance. This is the third time!

The Dallas Mavericks entered Wednesday with the longest winning streak in the league, and they hung around with the Golden State Warriors for four damn quarters. That’s one of the hardest things to do in this league, and yet the Mavericks did just that ... only to be buried with a Stephen Curry dagger.

Dallas had trailed 120-110 and gotten back into the game with a 10-0 run. After Klay Thompson threw in a layup at a wild angle, Harrison Barnes responded for the Mavericks. But Dallas had put out an all-offense lineup for the Barnes possession, one that included Dirk Nowitzki. You know, Nowitzki turns 40 this year. He never really had a chance. (Dallas should have fouled, though. They had one to give.)

Without a timeout and on a desperate last-chance play, Dennis Smith airballed a shot from around center court.

This isn’t the first time that Curry has burnt Dallas.

Or even the second.

Curry breaks hearts in Dallas, and on Wednesday, he snapped a winning streak, too. The Mavericks probably should have never even been in this game — Rick Carlisle is a coaching wizard, still — but it’s no real surprise that Curry was the final blow in a close game. Mavericks fans, at least, have experience handling things like this.
