Blake Griffin is no longer on the Los Angeles Clippers, which means Lob City — even after its premature destruction when Chris Paul left for Houston — has now officially crumbled into rubble, debris, and ash.
NBA scores 2018: Blake Griffin is the first domino to fall before the trade deadline
Griffin’s trade highlighted the Monday night NBA slate.

Griffin is now on the Pistons and will share a front court with Andre Drummond, a player very similar to DeAndre Jordan. Lord knows what will become of the rest of Griffin’s career over in Detroit.
Few expected Griffin to be the first domino to fall in Los Angeles. After all, he just signed a piping-hot, five-year, $173 million contract. Jordan’s name had already been making its fourth and fifth rounds in trade rumors when Griffin was dealt, and Lou Williams has been playing his way into a trade to a contender all season long.
The 2018 NBA trade deadline is here, ladies and gentlemen, and it’s not going anywhere. Griffin was only the first player expected to be dealt from the Clippers’ roster. They’re big, big sellers at the deadline, and guess what? There’s a league full of buyers waiting to swoop down for the next player who can help them win a championship.
But for now, so long Griffin. We’ll never forget how many times you jumped over, around, or straight through a defender in furious attempts at putting the basketball into the rim. And of all those vicious, disrespectful poster dunks, this one will never, ever be forgotten.
OK, or this one either:
The Nuggets should have called a timeout
Kyrie Irving actually missed a shot in crunch time, giving the Nuggets a chance to win the game with less than five seconds left on the clock. And instead of calling a timeout and drawing up a play, Denver played on, settling for a shot that made Richard Jefferson question his existence:
Sorry, RJ. We wish you were still in Cleveland.
Jeff Teague threw the Wolves-Hawks game away
Teague threw a bad pass on the second-to-last possession of a one-point game, then called a timeout with none remaining on the very last possession. That, and he lost the battle against Dennis Schroder — the guard who effectively replaced Teague in Atlanta — even though Schroder himself had an awful game.
Just look at the stat sheets:
Better luck next time.
What type of wizardry is this, Irving?
Victor Oladipo rejected Dwight Howard
He also had 25 points on 11-of-15 shooting from the field, so there’s that, too.
Mario Abdul-Jabbar?
Some good touch around the rim there, Mario Chalmers.
Why did Irving backpedal like this?
So disrespectful.
Monday’s NBA scores
Hawks 105, Timberwolves 100
Heat 95, Maverick 88
Celtics 111, Nuggets 110
