Not all heroes wear capes.
Jackie Bradley Jr. and Andrew Benintendi are now “JBJesus” and “Benny Ballgame”
The two Red Sox outfielders came up huge to help the Red Sox take a 3-1 lead in the ALCS. Now, their new nicknames are T-shirts.

But sometimes — especially during the ALCS — they wear Boston Red Sox uniforms.
On Wednesday night, those Boston heroes were Jackie Bradley Jr. and Andrew Benintendi, who each made game-changing plays to help the Red Sox beat the Houston Astros in Game 4.
First up was Bradley Jr., who launched a massive two-run homer in the sixth inning to help the Red Sox retake the lead at 6-5. Not only was it Bradley Jr.’s second home run of the series, but he’s done it style with these epic moon shots.
I mean, look at this bad boy.
In Red Sox Nation, he’s no longer Jackie Bradley Jr. By hitting two home runs and driving in nine RBIs this series, he’s cemented his status as “JBJesus.”
The T-shirt speaks for itself.
Then there was Benintendi, who sealed the win with this diving catch in the bottom of the ninth as the Astros were looking to cap off a bases loaded comeback.
Now that’s how you end a ballgame to take a commanding 3-1 series lead. As our Whitney McIntosh noted, if the 24-year-old misplayed the ball and it got past his diving glove, the Astros would likely score all three runners and win the game.
That’s why Benintendi is now “Benny Ballgame.”
After their huge win, the Red Sox will look to close out the series with a Game 5 win against the Astros on Thursday night.
