Esports organization 100 Thieves announced on Tuesday that Drake, along with talent manager Scooter Braun are two of the newest investors who joined the company during its Series A of funding.
Drake is now a co-owner of esports organization ‘100 Thieves’
Drake and Scooter Braun are a part of the organizations Series A of funding.

The pair are being billed as “co-owners,” in a group that includes the Cleveland Cavaliers, who invested in the company earlier this year in order to assist the organization in fielding a League of Legends team, which recently finished its first season in 4th place in the North American League of Legends Championship Season (NA LCS).
100 Thieves, which brands itself as a “lifestyle brand” alongside its esports ventures has teams that compete in Fortnite: Battle Royale, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Clash Royale, alongside its flagship League of Legends team. This branding attracted Drake and Braun to the organization, according to a report by Forbes.
“He has a clear vision for where esports is going and how to build an amazing brand within it, and that’s why I wanted to bet on him and 100 Thieves,” Scooter Braun says.
The company is calling its braintrust a “dream team,” believing that Cavs’ owner Dan Gilbert can assist with the sports side of the organization, while Drake and Braun can advise with the entertainment. The investment is a major coup for 100 Thieves, which is fast becoming one of the largest esports organizations in the world.
Drake made waves earlier this year when he appeared on a Fornite stream for several hours with pro-gamer Ninja. The result smashed viewing records on Twitch, and now gives the hip-hop artist a direct link to the world of esports. In addition the Toronto Raptors (of which Drake is also a partial owner) field a team in the “NBA 2K League.”
