Kevin Durant compared the Warriors to Migos. Here’s why it’s perfect.

Quavo first compared Klay Thompson to Takeoff, and KD took the rest from there.

After Klay Thompson’s eruption for 52 points on an NBA single-game record of 14 three-pointers, Kevin Durant posted the following on Instagram:

What’s important here is what happened in the comment section (usually the toilet of any internet page). Migos’ Quavo jumped in and compared Thompson to his fellow Migo, Takeoff.

Then, Durant came through with a full-on comparison:

Durant’s comparison couldn’t be more accurate.

Here’s why.

Steph Curry is Quavo because he’s the most recognizable of the group, and mostly everyone’s favorite.

Curry is a rockstar. Before any game the Warriors play, whether at home or on the road, fans arrive early just to see him and his pregame routine. If they’re lucky, they’ll snag an autograph or a selfie.

Curry’s pregame routines are basically the hook of Warriors games, which is Quavo’s specialty. He’s been the face of the best team in the league for the past five years, and is a consistent performer. Easy comparison.

KD is Offset, because he’s a close second favorite but also really good on his own.

Whether you’re a big fan of Migos or not, it’s important to understand all three of them are extremely talented. KD would never take anything away from himself like that. After all, KD has said he’s just as skilled as LeBron James, the best player in the NBA:

“Accolades and accomplishments and legacy and all that stuff and how they mean to people, I can’t talk on that,” Durant said of James. “But as far as basketball skills are concerned? I’m on the same level.”

Offset usually comes in after Quavo on tracks, and can do things with lyrics that will just kind of leave you shocked. It’s also not unusual for him to own a track. Offset bars are not unlike one of Durant’s daggers in an NBA Finals against the Cavaliers.

And now, to the original comparison that was made by Quavo and most importantly ...

Thompson is indeed Takeoff, because his scoring outbursts are like Takeoff’s verses: they’re the best performances in the group.

Takeoff is the best in Migos when it comes to verses, and it’s not close. That’s why his verses are always last on the track. And for y’all that want to bring up “tHEn HoW cOmE hE waS fiRsT oN ‘I gEt ThE baG’!?” It’s because that shit was so good it couldn’t wait.

If you disagree with me, even Quavo said Takeoff is the best:

My boy take best been boss. In my opinion he the best one out of all of us. He’s the youngest, he been like that. To me he the best one out the group.

So there. @ me.

For Thompson, his verses are 52 points with 14 three-pointers, 60 points on 11 dribbles, and 37 points in a quarter. Bars.

Green is Pee, because he’s the leader, and recruiter.

Pee, along with Coach K (no, not that one) are the founders of Quality Control Music, the record label that is home to Migos, Lil Yatchty and others. They are known for their ability to find and recruit talent, which is exactly what Green did to help the Warriors go from being one of the best teams in NBA history to one of the most hated teams in NBA history.

He did it for KD, via Zach Lowe.

Green was already working on that as he left Oracle Arena after that gutting Game 7 loss. Green sat in his car in the parking lot and called Myers, telling him he had to sign Durant. “It’s on you,” Green told Myers.

Green hung up, stayed in the parking lot, and made another call — to Durant. “That was my very next call,” Green said. Two weeks later, Durant signed a maximum contract that put him in a Golden State uniform for at least one season, with several more seasons likely to come.

”If we win the championship, I’m like 99 percent sure we don’t get him,” Green said. “There are silver linings to everything.”

And he did it for Boogie, via Shams Charania:

The Warriors’ recruitment was led by Green, who has a strong relationship with Cousins, Durant and general manager Bob Myers, and it included positive phone calls between Cousins and coach Steve Kerr, league sources said.

Collectively, the Warriors are an unstoppable force that will always get your attention when they are performing, much like Migos and QC.
