The 2018 New York City Marathon is here, and the best distance runners in the world will be in action bright and early on Sunday morning. The race, which saw nearly 100,000 applicants for 2017, goes for 26.219 miles along a course that goes through the five boroughs of New York City. The race is one of the World Marathon Majors, and one of the biggest races of the year.

Sunday’s race will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. ET (live streaming via WatchESPN). If you’re local, you can catch the action on WABC-TV Channel 7 from 9 a.m. through 2 p.m. (live streaming via ABC7NY.com).

Defending champions Geoggrey Kamworor of Kenya and Shalane Flanagan of the United States will both be participating in the action on Sunday, as will 2018 Boston Marathon winner Desiree Linden, four-time United States Olympian Abdi Abdirahman, and plenty of other excellent distance runners.

The action begins at 8:30 a.m. with the Professional Wheelchair Division, with the main event being the start of the Professional Women’s race at 9:20 a.m. and then the Professional Men’s race at 9:50 a.m. The four waves of non-professional runners will begin at 9:50 with the professionals and end with the last wave at 11 a.m.

There will be a live-streamed view of the finish line until 5 p.m., via WatchESPN.
