Saul “Canelo” Alvarez has moved to 51 wins and has also earned the WBA (Regular) super middleweight title with a third-round stoppage of Rocky Fielding on Saturday. It was the main event, and it was very one-sided, as expected, with Canelo dominating the action and dropping Fielding four times before the fight was called off by the referee. The card was streamed exclusively on DAZN, which has signed Canelo to a five-year agreement that, according to DAZN, will include 10 more fights.

Canelo has now won two in a row after his draw with Gennady Golovkin (including a narrow decision win over Golovkin in the rematch). He is now a four-time champion in three different weight classes, and it will be very interesting to see where he goes from here.

In the co-feature, Tevin Farmer put up his IBF junior lightweight title against Francisco Fonseca. They went the full 12 rounds, with Farmer controlling the action with his movement and fast hands, but despite his control over the fight, appeared to grow frustrated in the later rounds. Fonseca took a ton of damage from Farmer, but wouldn’t go down.

Still, the bout ended via decision in favor of Farmer, who retained his belt.

On the undercard, which was also streamed on Saturday, Lamont Roach fought in the first of four title bouts, defending his WBO international super featherweight title against Alberto Mercado, winning a decision in the bout. Then, Katie Taylor defended her IBF and WBA women’s lightweight titles, dominating Eva Wahlstrom en route to a decision win and a 12-0 record. That bout was still going on when it came time for the main card to start.

On the main card, Ryan Garcia earned an impressive knockout over Braulio Rodriguez after a few rounds of dominant, composed boxing. Rodriguez did a lot of shuffling and dancing, but he never came close to hurting Garcia. In the second bout of the card, Sadam Ali looked a bit off his game, but still controlled the bout and won a unanimous decision over Mauricio Herrera.

Below, you can find the round-by-round action from the main card, and below that, a full list of results from the evening of fights.

Canelo Alvarez def Rocky Fielding via KO

Round 1: Fielding paws the jab out there early, using his significant reach advantage. Canelo quickly closes the distance and gets Fielding against the ropes, where he fires off a strong three-punch combo. Fielding lands a nice jab, but eats a left hook. Hard body shot followed by a short uppercut and Fielding takes a knee! He gets up at eight, and they continue. Another big hook to the body from Canelo, and a heavy short uppercut that Fielding just blocks. Fielding is staying close, right in Canelo’s wheelhouse, and that’s not a smart way to go about things at all.

Round 2: Fielding is already showing signs of damage on his face, and he’s got nothing for Canelo, at least early. He eats a hard overhand right, then a one-two hook combo to the body. Straight to the body now for Canelo. Fielding connects with a short left that lands hard, but Canelo answers with four or five quick punches of his own. Another hard body shot and Fielding goes down to a knee. He returns to his feet, and the round ends shortly after.

Round 3: Canelo goes right back to work with heavy body shots, doing real damage to the mid-section. Fielding connects with a hard straight left that may have done some damage, but Canelo is unstoppable right now. A big body shot and Fielding goes down again. He gets up, and is quickly downed for a fourth time, and the referee waves the fight off!

Tevin Farmer def. Francisco Fonseca via decision

Round 1: Farmer comes out aggressive, with lunging jabs, but Foneseca handles it and is getting his bearings. Stiff right jab from Farmer lands, then a quick right to the body. They spend most of the room in the feeling-out process, but it was probably Farmer’s round, namely because Fonseca did so little.

Round 2: Farmer keeping his hands out there in front of him, constantly changing levels, and he’s getting quite a few hooks to the body inside, and they’re connecting, but nothing big up top as of yet. Two big hooks to the body from Farmer, and then he eats one from Fonseca. Another one-two to the body from Farmer, as he slips a jab from Fonseca.

Round 3: Fonseca comes out swinging, and he eats a big left hand for his troubles. He then lands a right hand down the middle, and then a counter left as he avoids a Fonseca uppercut. Fonseca jab is dodged, and he’s met with a one-two body combo. Farmer is dominating this bout, while Fonseca is looking for the big punch. He hasn’t landed it yet.

Round 4: Farmer comes out swinging, as active as he has been in past rounds. Fonseca has some swelling around his right eye. He eats a hard straight right from Farmer. And Farmer simply controls this round — he’s keeping the jab out there and landing some good shots, while keeping Fonseca guessing with level changes.

Round 5: Fonseca and Farmer both connect with heavy left hands about a minute into the round, after some more of Farmer controlling the action. Farmer though, seems to have taken the worst of those lefts, and Fonseca connects with a couple jabs. Big deep breath from Farmer. Fonseca walks Farmer down to the ropes, throwing about a dozen short punches with no reply from Farmer, who does a good job of turtling and dodging where he needs to. Two hooks to the body from Farmer, then a jab over the top as the round ends.

Round 6: Both fighters connect with hooks to the body. Farmer lands a hard short uppercut, and then a hard body shot. Fonseca connects with a hard right hand, but eats two more body shots in the process. Big left uppercut from Farmer, and Fonseca has a cut on the right side of his face, it seems. Farmer gets Fonseca into the corner and is throwing heavy shots now. Fonseca gets Farmer against the ropes, and eats a hard left uppercut.

Round 7: Fonseca connects with a hard uppercut as Farmer comes in. They tie up, Farmer taking a big deep breath. He might be slowing down a little bit. He’s dropped his hands and now he’s just trying to dodge, taunting Fonseca. Farmer eats several shots he didn’t need to eat because he was trying to taunt, and that honestly could have been a Fonseca round.

Round 8: Two hard straights from Farmer, then a hook to the body. He eats a short jab from Fonseca, but connects with a right cross. We get a lot of dirty boxing in this round, with Farmer and Fonseca both sitting in the pocket and just drilling each other with short hooks. Both fighters dish it out, but Farmer lands more and harder shots while minimizing damage to himself.

Round 9: Fonseca comes forward — he’s at least hanging in this fight, but Farmer is landing most of the big shots. Hard hook to the body from Fonseca. Farmer connects with a short uppercut, and then so does Fonseca. Hard left hand from Farmer lands flush, but Fonseca walks through it. Left jab from Farmer, and then some hard hooks as the round ends.

Round 10: Farmer eats a heavy hook and it’s probably the most damage he’s taken all fight. Farmer responds with a big hook to the body, then three consecutive, hard uppercuts that had to hurt Fonseca. But Fonseca walks through them, firing off counter punches. He’s not landing much of them, but Farmer is looking frustrated by the fact that he can’t put Fonseca down.

Round 11: Big left hook from Fonseca just misses Farmer. Straight to the chest from Fonseca and that did some damage. Jab from Fonseca snaps Farmer’s head back. Farmer wings a wild hook that has no chance of landing. Fonseca with a big combo to the body. He’s hurting Farmer late here, and Farmer may be a bit gassed. Fonseca connects with several short punches up high and Farmer is winging hooks from his back foot, missing most of them. Definitely a Fonseca round!

Round 12: Farmer comes out fast, clearly eager to bring it after probably his worst round of the fight. He avoids a couple hooks to the body from Fonseca. Right jab from Farmer lands as Fonseca misses with a right of his own. Fonseca stalking, but Farmer is avoiding everything. Hard left from Farmer as the round and fight ends.

Sadam Ali def. Mauricio Herrera via decision

Round 1: Ali taking the aggressive first, though the first minute is spent in a feeling-out period. Jab to the body from Ali, and Herrera tries with a couple of long jabs, but Ali gets out of the way. Herrera connects with a short uppercut late, but nothing significant lands in the round.

Round 2: Ali with a quick jab to the body. Herrera keeps walking him down, but he’s not completing his maneuver with any actual shots. They tie up multiple times when Ali comes in throwing, and nothing big lands. Stiff left jab from Herrera lands, then a big left hook from Ali connects, and the follow-up right grazes him. Herrera avoids an overhand, and lands a stiff punch to the chest.

Round 3: Herrera is defending well and it may be frustrating Ali some. Ali eats a straight from Herrera, but also connects with a hard right straight and just misses with a big uppercut. One-two to the body from Ali lands, then the follow-up hook grazes the head. Short left hook from Herrera lands. It’s an Ali round, but Herrera is defending well.

Round 4: Ali connects with two hard left jabs. Herrera comes forward with a pair of body hooks, and a big right hand over the top, perhaps his best shot of the fight. Ali looks a bit frustrated out there. Hard jab from Herrera lands hard. Ali throws two big left hooks to the body and they land. Things slow down a bit as the round comes to an end. Ali should be up, but Herrera has been hanging in there.

Round 5: Good counter right hook from Herrera, then a hard left jab that he stepped into. Two more jabs follow after a feint right hand from Herrera, and Ali isn’t getting much through in this round. And just after I type that, he lands a hard right straight over the top. Right hand to the body followed by a left hook up top for Ali.

Round 6: Ali comes forward with a flurry early in the round, and he connects with a couple short shots. They tie up multiple times, and Herrera now is the one that looks frustrated. Herrera comes forward and eats several short hooks, none of which are particularly big, but they’re still landing. Round 5 could have been a Herrera round, but Round 6 is back to Ali.

Round 7: Ali moving around a lot more, trying to circle a bit more, probably on advice from his corner. He connects with the same short hooks he’s been landing, and then he rips massive body shots late in the round, and they do some serious damage. Herrera is favoring his midsection, so one of those definitely hurt him. Herrera landed a good counter right over the top in the flurry, but Ali did the damage he needed to.

Round 8: Both fighters now moving around some more, trying to be aggressive Herrera connects with a big left jab, and Ali eats a hard jab while apparently complaining to the referee about something. Herrera seems to be gaining confidence as Ali starts to slow down. He lands some hard hooks, right on the head, and Ali stumbles back from one of them. Ali gets screamed at in his corner for dropping his hands and letting Herrera fight his fight.

Round 9: Ali with a hard straight right, and then he eats the same punch from Herrera. Left uppercut from Ali just misses its mark. Ali just misses with another big shot, this one a hard left hook. He’s being more aggressive though, and that’s what his corner wants. Herrera is slowing down a lot. Not a lot of action in the penultimate round!

Round 10: Big one-two hook combo from Ali to start, and he connects with a stiff left straight as Herrera came in for a counter. Hard right hand over the top from Ali lands. They tie up, and are separated by the referee. Herrera blocks an uppercut, and eats a short hook to the body. Stiff left hook, and then another from Ali. Herrera swings a couple big hooks of his own, but nothing lands. Round and fight ends — it should be Ali’s, but he didn’t look great overall.

Ryan Garcia def. Braulio Rodriguez via KO

Round 1: Both fighters pawing out with jabs to the body to start the fight. Rodriguez lands a couple of such punches, while Garcia is still trying to find his range. They tie up, clinched, and as they separate, Garcia wings a hard overhand that staggers Garcia, and a follow-up left hook puts him down with 30 seconds to go in the round. Rodriguez gets to his feet just before the end of the 10-count, and Garcia swarms him, trying to finish him, but he survives the round. An explosion of offense from Garcia at the end of the round definitely did some damage, landing multiple strong hooks flush.

Round 2: Two powerful left jabs from Garcia land right at the start of the round. Rodriguez throws some hard counters, both of which miss, to try and get Garcia to back up some. They tie up and Garcia connects with a hard overhand. This round is a bit slower to end, with Rodriguez creating himself some breathing room, but Garcia still landed the better shots.

Round 3: Rodriguez is warned for the second time of the night for wide hooks that go astray, and he has a point taken away by the referee. Rodriguez is doing a lot of dancing, shrugging and acting as though he’s dominating the fight, but he’s not landing anything of consequence. Garcia is walking him down and powering through with heavy jabs. Rodriguez shakes his head after a beautiful, hard one-two from Garcia. Rodriguez wings another wide hook that is perhaps a bit too wide, and is warned again by the referee.

Round 4: Garcia lands a hard overhand right, and several big left jabs, before blitzing Rodriguez into the ropes with a flurry. Rodriguez smiles through it all, but he’s getting schooled. Two hard hooks to the body from Garcia, then a left straight as he’s backing up lands flush on the temple. Another easy Garcia round.

Round 5: Garcia looks like he’s had just about enough of Rodriguez, and he shows it by swarming Rodriguez early in the round. He eats two big right hands, the second of which sends him into the ropes, and a left hook puts him down. The referee counts him out. This one is done, and it wasn’t close — but it’s another impressive showing from Garcia.
