The ‘my team won a conference championship,’ let’s get hype apparel guide

In life, there are only three certainties: death, taxes, and Twitter fights about the College Football Playoff.

Last weekend, the college football regular season officially came to an end with Conference Championship Saturday, followed by the College Football Playoff selection show on Sunday. Naturally, Twitter fights about “resumes” and “strengths of schedules” became trending topics when Ohio State, Georgia, and Oklahoma were waiting to see who’d nab the playoff’s final spot. And while that argument was forming, UCF (with its 25 game-winning streak) and its fans were just asking for some consideration in the debate.

While we can’t bury those hatchets, we are here to help with conference championship merch. We understand some fans might still be sour about their respective teams getting left out of the playoff, so maybe some new team apparel can sweeten the feeling for just a bit as fans get ready for bowl season to get underway.

Here’s a look at what’s dropped so far:

Just when we thought Alabama might actually lose a football game for once, Jalen Hurts saved the Crimson Tide’s season with his late-game heroics after Tua Tagovailoa went down with an ankle injury. After its comeback win against Georgia to win the SEC title, the Tide are now rolling into the College Football Playoff as the No. 1 seed. Don’t hate us for the cliche.

Let’s be honest: Did Pittsburgh ever have a shot in the ACC title game? With its 42-10 victory, Clemson made it four-straight ACC titles and locked up the No. 2 seed.

So, the Fighting Irish were the odd team out when it came to conference championship celebrations last weekend, but an undefeated regular season and spot in the College Football Playoff deserves something, right? How about some T-shirts to kick off playoff season.

All hail Kyler Murray! Seriously, the dude was amazing this season and put the Sooners on his back every week. In the Big 12 title game, Murray went 25-for-34 for 379 yards and three touchdowns. Now the Sooners are Big 12 champs, and once again playoff contenders by scooping up the final spot with its win against Texas.

For Ohio State and UCF fans, the season ended on a bit of a down note: a conference championship, but no shot to play for a national title. But hey, at least you got some new swag.

An inconsistent defense + an explosive offense = a wildly entertaining and stressful season of ups and downs. So yes, the Buckeyes got left out of the College Football Playoff again, but another Big Ten title and Rose Bowl victory should keep Ohio State fans happy heading into next season. And if not, at least you have a new T-shirt to wear around the house during the offseason.

The Pac-12 is out of the College Football Playoff for the second straight year, but on the bright side, Washington gets a chance to knock off Ohio State and give the conference a big boost heading into 2019.

Hey, who really needs a four-team playoff to determine the national title anyway? UCF finished its regular season undefeated once again, but still got no love from the College Football Playoff committee. We can’t change minds, but we can change hearts with some new conference championship and bowl game merch.
