The 2018 Winter Olympics are in full swing and the United States is starting to pick up the pace. On Sunday, it secured its third and fourth medals, and sit fifth in the total medals count with plenty of competition to go. But Norway still leads the count with nine total, though the gap is closing.

Germany is in first place when it comes to gold medals, with four of them, and seven total, just two behind Norway. The Netherlands, always a force in the Winter Olympics, are sitting with seven medals, including three gold, two silver, and two bronze. Of Norway’s nine medals, just two are gold.

The United States earned its first gold medal in the men’s snowboarding slopestyle early on, and on Sunday, it picked up the gold in the women’s snowboarding slopestyle thanks to the stellar performance from Jamie Anderson, who also took the gold in Sochi 2014.

The bronze medal was earned on Sunday as well, when the United States finished third in the team figure skating event, which was held for just the second time in Olympics history. Canada and the Olympic Athletes of Russia took gold and silver in the team event, respectively.

South Korea and Austria both have just one medal, but that medal is a gold. Australia, Slovakia, Italy and Kazakhstan all have one medal.

On Monday

There are two medals up for grabs on Monday evening. The first is the mixed doubles curling bronze medal, a match between Norway and the Olympic Athletes of Russia. The second is the women’s snowboarding halfpipe final.
