Mikaela Shiffrin’s quest to defend her gold medal in the Alpine slalom takes place Tuesday night — and you can watch it all unfold live at the 2018 Winter Olympics (live stream) on NBC.

Tuesday could be another big night for American women. The 22-year-old Shiffrin earned her first Olympic gold medal in Sochi, months before she graduated from high school. On Tuesday, she can add to her haul and cement her status as one of the sport’s all-time legends with a win in the mountain-shredding slalom.

But while you’ll have to stay up late (11:30 p.m. ET) to see if Shiffrin can extend her streak of dominance, you’ll be able to watch another legendary American before putting the kids to bed. Shaun White, now somehow 31 years old, can write another chapter in his tome of snowboarding wizardry by returning to the podium in Pyeongchang. White earned back-to-back gold medals in the 2006 and 2010 Games, but finished a disappointing fourth in 2014.

He’ll have a chance to reclaim his spot atop the sport with a victory in what may be his final Olympic appearance. He’ll have to outduel a field that includes Japanese sensation Ayumu Hirano to get there. Hirano was one of the competitors who sent White home from Russia without any hardware by claiming a silver medal in Sochi. More impressively, he was only 15 years old at the time.

Now 19, Hirano heads up a list of the world’s best snowboarders that also includes 2014 gold medalist Iouri Podladtchikov of Switzerland and two-time world champion Scotty James of Australia.

Away from South Korea’s mountains, the short program will set the stage for the medal rounds of the pairs figure skating competition. Germany’s Aliona Savchenko and Bruno Massot are the prohibitive favorites in the event — though Americans Alexa Scimeca Knierim and Chris Knierim could make a splash with a surprising charge to the podium.
